Tuesday December 3 Meeting

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, December 3 at 6.30 pm.  This will be our Holiday Party.

Please bring any remaining place mats, show and tell, BOM, renewal (see further below) and your appetizer!

We are having our annual gift exchange, Three Favorite Things.  Bring your favorite thing, (3 of the same, $5 limit on each) and everyone will go home with 3 different items!  It's a lot of fun!  It does not have to be sewing related.

Recap of October 24 Meeting

We had a fantastic meeting on Tuesday October 24.  We exceeded our Placemat goal! Yes, we did it.  We have over 600 place mats for the Friendship Trays. And we did it early.  We Rock!

We had a guest speaker from Maine, Kitty Wilkin! The Night Quilter.  It was a wonderful lecture on meticulous cutting for our Quilts.  Her Pollinate quilt and Tiny piecing are amazing. Pictures will follow below. 

On Friday we had the Pollinate EPP class and Sat was Tiny Piecing. So much fun!

We also elected our board for the year 2020.

Thursday October 24 Meeting

Our October Meeting will Thursday Oct 24 at 6.30 pm. The meeting will be held in Room B.  We are so excited to have Kitty Wilking (IG Nightquilter) as our Guest Speaker! She was recently featured in the AQS magazine.

The lecture will be Meticulous Magic: The Many Faces of Fussy Cutting.  Explore the world of fussy cutting and see the many ways you can apply it to your projects to take your quilting to another level. Fussy cutting, or the practice of intentionally cutting a specific motif from a fabric design, is a fun technique that can be applied to any project. There are many different ways to add a touch of meticulous to your quilting projects, whether traditionally pieced, foundation paper pieced, or English paper pieced. Kitty will show examples of the many ways fussy cutting can be applied to quilting, will show ideas on how to make your own planning templates, and will share tips and tricks on successfully cutting, basting (if applicable), and accurately stitching your carefully cut fabrics so that you can use some meticulous magic to transform your next project

Cost of the Lecture will be $10 for non members (unless you are a workshop)

We have a few spaces in our workshops.   

The Pollinate Class is Friday Oct 25 from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.  This is an English Paper Piecing class. The cost is $75 for members and  $90 for non members.  The cost includes papers for the pattern.  This class will be in Room D.

Tiny Piecing is a 3 hour class on Tiny paper piecing! The Class is on Saturday from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.  The cost is $30 for members and $45 for non members. This class will be in Room C. 

Kitty did 100 days of tiny piecing and it was displayed at Quiltcon in Nashville. 

Both classes will be held at St Gabriel Catholic

Church Ministry Center.

Tiny Piecing

Tuesday Sept 24 Meeting Recap

We had a fantastic meeting on Tuesday, September 24!  We had 110 place mats turned in!  Our total is 510 with only 90 more to go!  This is really exciting! 

We had a few more quilts turned in for the Womans Auction.  Our guild receives the space at St.Gabriel Catholic Church at no cost.  In return we provide handmade quilted items for the Womans Auction in the Fall. 

The next Sew In will be Sat November 9 from 9 am to 2 pm at St Gabriel Ministry Center. Room C.
