Tuesday, September 24 Meeting

Please join us for our meeting on Tuesday, September 24.  This meeting is the last opportunity to donate a handmade quilted item for the Woman's Auction.  You can finish up here at this meeting as it is a Sew In. Work on whatever you would like - handwork, piecing, place mats, binding, or just come to visit and socialize! 

We meet in Room C of the St. Gabriel Catholic Church Ministry Center at 6.30 pm.  3016 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28211

Don't forget your Block of the Month,   Show and Tell and place mats.

We will have our sale table as well, bring something to sell or look for some goodies.  This goes to our Guild and funds the raffle prizes.

Also, we are still taking sign ups for our workshops in October with Kitty Wilkin.  Friday Oct 25 is EPP - the Pollinate Pillow - $75 for members. Saturday is a half day class called Tiny Piecing - $30 for members.   Please contact Loretta Sirota - lmls088@yahoo.com if you can't make it to our meeting.

Charlotte Modern Quilt Guild Hosts Kitty Wilkin in October!

The Charlotte Modern Guild is hosting Kitty Wilkin  (IG Nightquilter) in October!

Our lecture will be Thursday Oct 24 at 6.30 pm. $10 for non members.

 Our workshops are:

The Pollinate Class is Friday Oct 25 from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.  This is an English Paper Piecing class. The cost is $75 for members and  $90 for non members.  The cost includes papers for the pattern.

Tiny Piecing is a 3 hour class on Tiny paper piecing!  The cost is $30 for members and $45 for non members. 

Kitty did 100 days of tiny piecing and it was displayed at Quiltcon in Nashville. She also is featured in the latest AQS magazine.

Both classes will be held at St Gabriel Catholic

Church Ministry Center.

Saturday September 21 Sew In

We will be having a Sew In  at St. Gabriel Catholic Church Ministry Building in Room C from 9 am to 2 pm.

This is a lot of fun and a great way to get to know members.

Please think about joining us!  You can work on your own projects or place mats! Take your pick.

August 27 Meeting Recap

We had a great meeting August 27!  Our Block of the Month is coming along nicely.
We had 70 place mats turned in!  Our Guild is Rocking it!   We are at 393 place mats.  Together we can do this.
We had lovely Show and Tell.

Our talented member Ellen Apte gave a fabulous presentation of her work! It was very inspiring.   There are great pictures below.  And dolls! Ellen makes so cool dolls!  Her pictures are below.

Some announcements were made:
Sept 21 is the next Sew In.  It will be held at our location at St. Gabriel Catholic Church Ministry Building Room C from 9 am to 2 pm.

Our September 24 meeting will be the Sew In for St. Gabriel.  If you have last minute items to finish to turn in, this is the time.  We are hoping for lots more items for the Women's Auction.
