There are lots of fun things planned for the November meeting. We hope to see
you all and encourage visitors to join us! The November meeting will be held at
Myers Park Presbyterian Church in the same room as the October meeting.
Rotary cutters were rolling, sergers and sewing machines were flying, and irons were steaming!! Today we made 100, YES, ONE HUNDRED pillowcases to donate to the Charlotte organization Beds For Kids. http://www.bedsforkids.org
We had eleven members and 1 "cutie pie junior member" join us for a fun day of sewing, laughs and lots of productivity.
We hit the 50 pillowcase mark around noon and thought "Maybe we can make it to 75?".
Then we hit the 75 pillowcase mark and our "cutie pie junior member" proclaimed "I bet we can make it to 100!".
Encouraged and inspired we kept going until we made it all the way to 100!!!
Thank you so much to Springs Creative for donating the many bolts of cheerful fabric and to Carmel Presbyterian Church for letting us use their wonderful facilities. Thank you, thank you!
We were also able to cut the fabrics for 50 more pillowcases and we will bring those kits to our next meeting. The pillowcases are so fun and easy to make. We hope to complete these 50 additional pillowcases soon and pass them along to new happy homes.

NOVEMBER SWAP - POT HOLDERS
The November swap will be potholders in a holiday/winter theme. If you want to participate just make and bring a potholder to the November meeting. Jennifer M. has posted more information and links to tutorials over on the Flickr group.
The Block-of-the-Month program has been so much fun. Here is how it works. Make 1 or more blocks based on that month's block/color scheme, bring your block(s) to the meeting and you could win ALL of the blocks donated that night. You get 1 entry for each block donated. Just think, you could go home with almost an entire quilt top worth of blocks!!
The November block is the Balkan Puzzle in YELLOW, GRAY on a light background. Your block should be 12.5". The complete details can be found at Craftsy. This is a great online class site and this block is part of their FREE 2012 BOM program. The Balkan Block is shown in the February 2012 video and class materials. Craftsy:Block-of-the-Month
