What a fun day!

Rotary cutters were rolling, sergers and sewing machines were flying, and irons were steaming!!  Today we made 100, YES, ONE HUNDRED pillowcases to donate to the Charlotte organization Beds For Kids.

We had eleven members and 1 "cutie pie junior member" join us for a fun day of sewing, laughs and lots of productivity.

We hit the 50 pillowcase mark around noon and thought "Maybe we can make it to 75?".

Then we hit the 75 pillowcase mark and our "cutie pie junior member" proclaimed "I bet we can make it to 100!".

Encouraged and inspired we kept going until we made it all the way to 100!!!

Thank you so much to Springs Creative for donating the many bolts of cheerful fabric and to Carmel Presbyterian Church for letting us use their wonderful facilities.  Thank you, thank you!

We were also able to cut the fabrics for 50 more pillowcases and we will bring those kits to our next meeting.  The pillowcases are so fun and easy to make.  We hope to complete these 50 additional pillowcases soon and pass them along to new happy homes.

  1. I am so sorry I missed it, hope I can join in next time....

  2. Awesome! Sorry I missed out on the fun, didn't want to spread my killer cold.

  3. How awesome! 100 pillowcases! That is tremendous. I'm sorry I missed the event. Thanks to those who did.
