Quiltalongs and Show-n-Tell 3/29/20

March is almost over - Wow - what a month!!!  I think we need to remind March what the term "lion" means again LOL!  Let's hope April is more kind and gives us a break, right?  To brighten your day, we are again passing along some free quilty projects found online, as well as the latest members' Show-n-Tell!!! ---

Quiltalongs / Offers:
Note that some of these are more traditional than modern, but many of us have traditional roots and still enjoy the occasional quilt project in that style :*)

Quiltville Sew-in-Place Quiltalong – Bonnie Hunter – “Unity”
Starts tomorrow!  Along similar lines to Bonnie’s famous yearly Mysteries, this quiltalong will feature a medallion setting with clues every Monday for about 9 weeks.  Instead of the design being a complete mystery until the reveal at the end, you will see the quilt emerge as you add each week’s blocks.  Click HERE to find out the details.

Laundry Basket Quilts – Edyta Sitar
Edyta is releasing a new block every day for her Mystery Quilt 2020.  She is already at Block 10 today, but you can find a link to all the previous clues on the blog page and catch up fairly easily.  This one is turning out very pretty!!!  Click HERE for details.

Quilt in progress by Laundry Basket Quilts

Bluprint is offering FREE unlimited classes – every class – until April 9!  Click HERE for details.

**NO MEETING THIS MONTH**

One final reminder ...
NO MEETING this month, and all activities have been postponed. We have tentatively rescheduled Libs Elliott lecture and classes for October 29-31, 2020 - we will definitely keep you posted.

Our hope is that you are finding ways to be creative and allow your quilting to soothe and quiet the soul in these trying times. Many of us are using this down time to work on making quilts and backpacks for our Friendship Trays Kids projects!  What are you working on? Here are a few photos you've shared and we've posted in our virtual Show-N-Tell on Facebook and Instagram recently....
Sara Struhs has made FOUR quilt tops for Friendship Trays Kids!

Eve Howes completed a Libs Elliott design called New Wave - is this gorgeous or what?!?

Teresa Raleigh completed a new pattern called Radiate, designed by Then Came June...

And she also enjoyed participating in the Elvira Quarantine-along hosted by GE Quilt Designs, making this top for the Friendship Trays Kids....

Pattie Bethune suggests that if you have a way, display a quilt outside your home - brighten everyone's day in your neighborhood!  Here is her gorgeous quilt on display at her home...

Please send us your photos so we can share and encourage each other.
Take care and be well!!! ❤️

Let's Have a Virtual Sew-Together!

Just because we can't meet together in person, that doesn't mean we can't join together online and enjoy each other's accomplishments, right?  We've noticed quite a few Quiltalongs and Free pattern offers popping up on Instagram, Facebook, etc., and we thought maybe we could share some of them with the group and sew together!
Throughout the next few weeks, I'll be posting links to some of these fun events and offers on our social media channels - here on our Blog, on Instagram and on FacebookCheck back often because new links will be added every few days!  We can be sewing together rather than alone!  Here are a few we found today:

       * Bummed because we've had to postpone Libs' visit?  Lillyella has a FREE pattern she designed featuring Libs Elliott fabric!  It's called Electric Diamond, and you can find it here - https://lillyella.com/tutorials/electric-diamond-pattern/

*Bonnie Hunter and GE Designs are collaborating on a quiltalong - Elvira Quarantine Quilt Along!  You can learn more here - https://gequiltdesigns.com/blogs/ge-happenings/elvira-quarantine-quilt-along

This one will have many options for size and would be a great design to play with for our Charity quilts!

*      Kaffe Fassett's group on Facebook is hosting a Corona Stitchalong - Japanese Knot Bag with Kantha stitching.  Click HERE to go there and find out more.

Have you found a good quiltalong to share?  Email me at piecesofcolor@yahoo.com and I'll add it to the posts.  We can also keep in touch with a virtual Show-n-Tell!  Send photos of what you are working on and I'll post those too - sharing is a big part of the fun, right?

Wishing you and your loved ones safety and all needed provisions throughout these challenging times.  Take care and be safe, and hopefully we will back together very soon!
