CHALLENGE ACCEPTED?

The challenge committee has come up with not one, but TWO challenge oppotunities for you to join in on! Please read about both below. We hope you join the fun!

For March:
Two Color Challenge
This is a two color challenge using turquoise and black. Here are the guidelines for the challenge:
1. Make a 10 inch square, quilted and bound block in the design of your choice using ONLY the colors turquoise and black. (I guess technically black isn't a color but you know what we mean : )
2. You may use a variety of values of the colors. For example, you might use a lighter and a darker turquoise but navy or royal blue are not included in the challenge.
3. You may use prints in your design but they must "read" as the solid. Tone on tone or other prints that read turquoise or black.
Have fun with this challenge and bring your block(s) to the meeting in March. Please read the April Challenge because we are requesting that you bring items that will be used in the challenge to the March meeting.
For April
Make Do Challenge
Using items that you would otherwise discard or take to Goodwill, make a small quilt of your own choosing. It can use any type of pattern or piecing you choose or be totally improv.  It can be any size up to 36 x 36 inches. Items that you might use could include old shirts, trousers, old table linens, t-shirts, or other clothing items. We are not talking about using up old fabric from your stash but old clothing or other items you would discard.
To make this challenge even more interesting, we are asking each member to bring three of these items to our March meeting. We will put them in a box and allow members who are participating in the challenge to draw items out of the box that they will then use in their quilt.
For inspiration, take a look at the website of Sherry Lynn Wood, especially these pages:

Don't forget to bring your items for the Make Do Challenge.
That's it for now. We are working on another larger challenge and the possibility of another exhibition later in the year!
