The
Charlotte Modern Quilt Guild is hosting a virtual lecture by Sylvia Schaefer on
August 31st at 7pm EDT. Her
lecture topic will be “Designing with Negative Space.” Sylvia has a PhD in marine science and the
influence of science can be seen in many of her quilt designs. She has won awards at national shows,
including the America Quilter’s Society show in Paducah. Her first book, The Quilter’s Negative Space
Handbook, was published in 2019 by C& T Publishing. You can learn more about Sylvia, see her
work, and order her patterns at her website, https://flyingparrotquilts.com/ There is no charge for the lecture for Charlotte MQG members and no need to register. There will be a $10 charge for non-members. Non-member registration will remain open until August 29th or until we reach our registration limit. Members and registered guests will be sent the zoom link the week prior to the meeting.
The Guild will conduct a business meeting at 6:30pm EDT. Sylvia’s lecture will begin promptly at 7pm ET.
