The Charlotte Modern Quilt Guild is pleased to announce that we will host Libs Elliott, a textile artist and designer who uses technology to design modern quilts. She will be the speaker for our March meeting to be followed by 2 workshops.
Her topic for the Thursday, March 26 lecture will be “Quilting with Code”. There is no charge to members and a $10 fee for non-members. Please note this is a change to our normal meeting day.
On Friday, March 27, her first full-day workshop is titled “Improv Piecing with Dynamic Stripes” which covers strip-piecing and cutting triangles shapes to make a one-of-a-kind dynamic quilt. Good for all levels of quilters. Pictures are below.
On Saturday, March 28, her second full-day workshop is titled “The Weight of Love”. The student will cut hexies, half-hexies and triangles using the Hex-N-More ruler and assemble blocks using the Y-seam method. Good for intermediate and above quilters. Picture is below.
The member fee for each full day class is $70. The non member fee is $90 for each full day class. The lecture will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church on Thursday evening. The workshops will be held at Selwyn United Methodist Church.
