Founded in April 2011, the Charlotte Modern Quilt Guild is a group of people passionate about modern quilting. We are a branch of the Modern Quilt Guild that began in LA in 2009.
The Modern Quilt Guild's definition is this: "The Modern Quilt Guild is a community of quilt guilds across the country and world. We focus on modern design and quilting. The quilts we make vary from traditional patterns made with funky fabrics to out of the box piecing with no patterns. All types of quilts are encouraged and appreciated, with the understanding that you can't be "wrong" in quilting. "
Modern Quilting is a marriage of the vintage skill of quilting and a modern approach and attitude. Modern fabrics, modern design and personal interpretations update quilting and open doors of creativity for quilters of all ages.
The CLT MQG is a place for members to share their skills, learn new techniques, meet new friends and have fun quilting.
We are a group of modern quilters and would be happy to have you join us. All skill levels are welcome. We hope you'll come be a part of the modern quilting revolution.
